For third consecutive year Bulgaria becomes a part of the European artistic crafts days (EACD), as in 2017 local authorities, museums, schools of applied arts and craftsmen are united by the theme “Forging links”. 31-st of March, 1-st and 2-nd of April are the days, chosen to popularize the diversity of crafts and to encourage the contacts of the craftsmen with partners from different spheres (cultural, social, economic), different generations, different sectors and different territories. In our country, the initiative is coordinated by RAM “Central Stara Planina”.
With the respectable support of the municipalities of Gabrovo, Dryanovo, Elena, Sevlievo and Teteven, Ethnographic open-air museum Etar and Architectural historical reserve Bozhentsi, a multitude of parallel events will direct the attention of the participants and the wide public to those components of the traditional and contemporary crafts, which draw closer and unite us.
Architectural-revival complex “Dandolovi Kusti’ in Sevlievo will open its doors at 10:00 o’clock, on the 31-st of March with an exhibition of knit works from the fund of the city Historical museum, workshop of ceramics and demonstration of woodcarving, crochet-hook and five-needles’ knitting.
The invitation from Dryanovo is for the 1-st of April, when workshops on woodcarving, iconography and souvenir making will take place in the pedestrian zone. An exhibition of craftsmen belongings and tools will tell its story with the assistance of the school clubs “Young patriots” and “Get to know Bulgaria”.
On the first day of April, the main square of Teteven will be multicolored and lively. Demonstrations of making of adornments, articles of leather and cast iron, embroidery, knitting and artistic work-out of wood will be accompanied by a bazaar of local craftsmen works and a rich folklore programme.
The 1-st and 2-nd April events, which will take place on the territory of the Gabrovian museums Etar and Bozhentsi, will be assuredly inspiring and interesting. Taking into account the motto of the EACD ‘2017, Ethnographic open-air museum Etar has decided to ‘forge links’ between the traditional crafts and the contemporary design, to unite the different generations and the show that together we are more creative and capable. In Centre “Bulgarka” of the complex, students from the national schools of applied arts in Triavna and Troyan will teach iconography, woodcarving and pottery-making to children and adults. Besides, articles of felt could be made and drawing on ivy could be done here. In the exhibition hall of the Old school of the second museum - Architectural historical reserve Bozhentsi, demonstrations and workshops of hand making of cement slabs, blowing and decoration of glass toys and modern basket-making with eco-materials are organized.
Two events will take place in Elena for the second time on the 1-st and 2-nd of April. The European artistic crafts days will take place in parallel with the Festival of the modern art “Bright Balkan world” and so the revival town will immerse its citizens and numerous guests into the world of tradition and modernity. The official opening will be on the 1-st of April, at 11:00 o’clock, at the stage of the “Hristo Botev” square. Along with the songs, dances, art installations, and lessons in Latino dances and fine arts, the spectators will be able to enjoy also the craftsmen nooks, located in close proximity. There, besides finished articles, demonstrations of woodcarvers, potters, basket-makers, florists, masters of the Bulgarian lace and knit works will be possible to be observed, as well. The tourist home will be transferred into a workshop for sugar and bread products, a territory preserved for the youngest.

Днес, ви представяме друг интересен участник в Европейските дни на художествените занаяти в Боженци – 1и 2 април. Майсторите от „Пластик“ са единствените в България изработващи стъклени играчки и украшения за елха. В миналото всички бяха стъклени, но неусетно те бяха изместени от пластмасови серийни изделия. Макар и извън сезона, ще ви покажем майсторството при работата със стъкло и как се случва магията на играчките. Ръчно изработените стъклени фигурки са уникални и носят духа и топлината на новогодишните празници.
На 1 и 2 април МАИР „Боженци“ ще се включи за трета поредна година в Европейските дни на художествените занаяти в България. Тази година стари и нови занаяти ще оживеят заедно.
Близо 50 чуждестранни гости и много граждани на Ловеч наблюдаваха днес на жп-гара Ловеч атракциония влак, теглен от музеен парен локомотив, който имаше престой над един час. Така туристите от Германия, Австрия, Великобритания, както и един от далечна Япония, се върнаха назад към времето на парните локомотиви. Родители бяха довели децата си да видят реликвата в действие и да научат откъде идва изразът, че влакчето прави „пуф-паф“.
